Do you want to learn? How to make $4,000 a month?

I’ve now made over $4,000 a month for over a decade, and personally know how great it can be to finally reach the income level you’ve always wanted. If you’re considering making $4,000 a month full-time, or if you want to add extra to what you’ve already made, there are many different ways to get there.

You can earn $4,000 a month, including side hustle, remote work, and starting small business ideas. Some ideas include blogging, freelance writing, flipping items, selling digital products, and even baking dog snacks at home.

The best way to make $4,000 a month

Below are the best ways to make $4,000 a month.

1. I’m starting a blog

Blogging is a great way to make $4,000 a month from your home.

And I know this because blogging has changed my life. I started a blog over 10 years ago while I was paying off my student loan. I had no idea what I was doing, but I stuck to it. This blog helped me eventually quit my job and travel full time. I’ve made over $5,000,000 over the years.

With blogs, you can make money through affiliate marketing, advertising, sponsored content, selling your own products (we’ve seen bloggers sell everything from candles to courses and guided travel trips). Building it takes time and effort, but the income potential is enormous. You can also start a YouTube channel!

Personally, it took me just over a year to make $4,000 a month from my blog. I made about $10,000 a month on my blog for about two years, and now I’m making more than that. I have a flexible schedule that I can earn, as well as a large income I can earn, so I can help those who have my content and enjoy blogging on my way to work (or travelling) from home!

Articles I wrote about you that you might like are ways to monetize your blog.

Plus, you can sign up for how to start a free blog course. This free course will show you how to start a blog until you earn your first income from the technical side and attract readers. Over 80,000 people have adopted this!

2. Sell printed or digital products

Selling digital products like budget prints, planners, business templates, wall art, gift tags, wedding invitations, education worksheets and more is a great way to make money by fitting half.

Once you create a product, you can sell it multiple times without stock or delivery.

Some sellers make thousands of people from their products per month, which I think is great.

3. Calibration

If you’re good at finding grammar mistakes, proofreading might be the perfect way to make money from home.

Proofreaders will check for errors in blog posts, essays, social media content, websites, sales pages, and even books. No specific university degrees are required. Pay great attention to the details.

Personally, I have a blog business proofreader. She is very helpful in improving my content and catching my mistakes.

4. bookkeeping

Bookkeeping is a highly paid and flexible job that you can do completely online from home.

Small business owners always hire freelance bookkeepers to help their finances. And you don’t need to be a CPA or an accountant to get started (and you don’t even need an accounting degree).

As long as you’re hoping to organize and learn software like QuickBooks, this can be a great job from home. And this is a job in high demand and it takes place for a long time because companies need bookkeepers.

Some bookkeepers earn $300 to $1,000 or more per client each month. With a small number of clients, you can quickly reach your $4,000 goal.

5. Make and sell dog snacks

The pet business is very popular now, and dog treats are a fun way to make money.

If you like baking and love, you can create homemade healthy dog treats and sell them wholesale online, in the local farmers market, or even pet stores.

Many pet owners are looking for new and interesting options and are willing to pay more for high quality homemade pet treats.

6. Print on demand

Print-on-demand allows you to design and sell custom products such as t-shirts, mugs, tote bags, candles, greeting cards, and more, without having to buy stock or ship them yourself.

Designs handle most of the work when uploaded to platforms like Printify, Redbubble, and Teespring. Every time something you design sells, you make money.

Print-on-demand has been so popular these days, I always buy print-on-demand items (and probably do as well, even if you don’t understand it). For example, I recently wanted to get a thank you card to my daughter’s kindergarten teacher. I searched “Toddler Daycare Teacher Teacher You Card” on Etsy to find something more personalized by kindergarten teachers rather than the common ones I found in grocery stores. Another example of what I recently bought was for my husband. He has been very interested in growing mango trees recently, so he wanted to find a funny shirt with mangoes. I was able to easily find mango shirts on Etsy and he loved how personalised the gifts were.

7. Manage Facebook ads for your business

Many small business owners know they should advertise on Facebook and Instagram, but they don’t know how.

If you can learn the basics of Facebook ads, you can charge your clients $1,000 to $2,000 or more per month to run your campaign.

With just 2-3 clients, you can make $4,000-6,000 a month.

For more information about this online business, join our FB Side Hustle Course waitlist. It is run by my friend Bobby and my step-sister Ariel (and their team), who are really knowledgeable about this particular subject.

8. Freelance writing

Freelance writing is one of the quickest ways to make money online, with no degree or certification required.

Companies and blogs are always looking for authors to help with blog posts, website copies, email newsletters and more. You can receive payments per word, per article, or per project.

When I first started writing freelance, I made about $25-$50 per article. I’m not as freelance as I used to, but I charge about $1,500 for an article I write for someone. I have many friends who make over $1,000 per article.

If only 10 clients can land, each paying $400 a month (or five who pay $800 for five), they have already reached the $4,000 mark.

9. Become a virtual assistant

Virtual Assistant (VA) helps small business owners with Inbox Management, social media posting, scheduling, blog formatting, customer support and more.

You can niche for podcast editing, email marketing, Pinterest management and more. This is when you can recharge more.

While many VASs start at around $20 to $25 per hour, experienced VAs selling professional services can charge more than $50-75 per hour. With just a few regular clients, you can achieve your monthly goals.

Also, this job is great as it is flexible, remote and allows you to work from anywhere with Wi-Fi.

I was a VA personally in the past, but now there are people who work for me and have had it for years. She is very needed to run my business, so I am very pleased that VAS exists.

10. Flip items for profit

If you’re enjoying hunting for hidden treasures, flipping might be the perfect side hustle. It’s all about buying low and selling high.

I have flipped items over and over again in the past for profit, but when I was younger there was even a small resale business. It was so much fun and I earned a good income from it.

You can find underrated items on garage sales, thrift stores, real estate sales, and even Facebook Marketplace and resell them for profit. Popular flip items include furniture, electronics, brand name clothing, toys and collectibles.

Some people turn items upside down part-time and earn hundreds of dollars a month, while others treat them like a full-time business, earning over $4,000 a month.

It takes some research and patience, but it is fun and profitable.

Another side hustle idea similar to this is to do retail arbitration (this is a very popular side hustle idea right now, and I’ve seen it all over social media!). This is when you buy discount or clearance items at a store like Walmart, Target, Walgreens, or TJ Maxx (for example, head to the clearance section to see what you can find, like a toy or a popular cup, then resell it for your profit on Amazon. Many people use the Amazon Seller app to scan the barcodes in the store to instantly see what something is on sale online.

For this, you can learn more about how to sell used items for $100,000.

11. Delivery or Rideshare app drive

Gig economy apps like Uber, Lyft, Doordash, Instacart, Uber Eats, and Grubhub allow you to make money using your car (although you may be able to use it on a bike or scooter, depending on where you live).

You can work at any time. This gives you a flexible option to create your own schedule.

It may take a lot of time to make $4,000 a month right now, but it can be possible by working on the app, driving during peak hours, working hours, and earning bonuses while earning tips.

12. Online individualized instruction or education

Online tutoring is another great way to make money, especially if you enjoy learning and have expertise on a specific subject, such as math, reading, science, university exams, or English as a second language. There is also a platform where you can teach music, art and life skills.

Tutors can earn between $20-60 (or much more!) per hour, depending on the theme, your experience, and the site you are teaching. Sites like Preply, Wyzant, Autrschool are good places to start.

You can also promote the service locally through social media such as local parent Facebook groups to see if parents are looking for a tutor for their children.

13. Rent a room or property

If you have extra space, borrowing it may be one of the easiest ways to make money. This can be a guest bedroom, an underground apartment, a small backyard house, a spare room used for storage, or a camper or RV. There are also sites where you can rent a swimming pool!

You can rent extra space for Airbnb, VRBO, or long-term tenants. If you have an RV, RVShare is the perfect place to rent an RV. You can even make an additional payment by booking several times a month.

14. Start a home cleaning business

If you’re looking for a flexible and scalable business, you can do it from anywhere. The remote cleaning business is a great option.

You don’t need to do the actual cleaning yourself. Instead, focus on doing the business side of things, such as finding customers, scheduling cleanings, hiring local cleaners to complete the job.

So this means you can manage your business from your mobile phone or computer wherever you live.

15. Use the rewards app and GPT site

Well, this won’t make you $4,000 a month on its own, but you might be able to combine multiple side hustles to reach your monthly income goals.

If you’re looking for an easy way to make extra money from home, the Get-Paid-to (GPT) site is one way. These sites pay you by taking photos of grocery receipts, responding to investigations, watching videos, playing games and more.

  • American Consumer Opinions – This site allows you to get researched and make extra money.
  • Swagbucks – With Swagbucks, you can earn points by shopping online, watching videos, and playing games where you can redeem gift cards. I’ve used this site and won over 110 gift cards over the years!
  • Get Rewards – This is a grocery receipt app, where you can earn points that can be placed on a free gift card simply by taking a photo of your grocery receipt (from the grocery store). I recently won a $50 gift card for free on this app.
  • Benefits – This is a gas rewards app that allows you to get cashback for gas or diesel purchases. I used this app about a month ago and received a $44 cashback from one fill-in at a gas station, which was very easy.
